Michelle Jio, LMFT

Michelle is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#90738) who specializes in working with teens and families. She obtained her B.A. in Communications and her Masters in Counseling Psychology. Michelle enjoys using a family systems approach to understanding the challenges that individuals experience and empowers each family member to thrive while building closer relationships with each other.

  • Marriage and Family Therapist treating teens, families, and young adults in Intensive Outpatient Programs and Partial Hospitalization Programs at El Camino Hospital (2016-present). Providing treatment for mood disorders and substance abuse disorders through individual and family therapy and DBT groups.

  • Clinician II at Uplift Family and Children’s Services Mobile Crisis (2012-2017) providing crisis counseling and suicide assessments for children and teens.

  • Addictions Preventions Counselor at Uplift Family and Children’s Services (2012-2015) providing school-based counseling, group therapy, and family therapy in the community.
