PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:

My work as a therapist began in 2012, while earning a Master’s in Social Work from University of Southern California. I have a broad background in working with many different people, including with teens, families, adults, and older adults. In Pasadena with Los Angeles Leadership Academy, I developed and implemented a mental health program for a K-12 school. I worked in-home and in the community with both Los Angeles County and Pacific Clinics to provide therapeutic services to homeless and low-income adults diagnosed with a severe mental illness. In San Jose I worked with Seneca Family Agency and provided therapy to families and children involved in the foster care system and in juvenile probation. I worked with Teen Therapy Center to provide in-home therapy to support teens and their parents to achieve their behavioral and mental health goals, specializing in using a combination of tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Wraparound behavioral support model.

HOBBIES/INTERESTS:

I enjoy music, art, and my dogs. I have spent years playing guitar, singing, and relaxing while attempting to paint along with Bob Ross. I enjoy nature and spending time outdoors, especially on rainy days.

WHAT DREW ME TO THIS WORK:

I wanted to be a veterinarian. I took almost exclusively STEM courses until my 3rd year of undergraduate school when I took a psychology course. I had found my calling, and many years later, I know I made the right choice. I love working with people where they are, in their world. I love helping people understand themselves, know themselves, and accept all of themselves.
