About the Role:

We are seeking a licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with specialized training and clinical experience in child and adolescent psychiatry to join our Behavioral Medicine Department. This is a part-time or full-time role providing psychiatric assessment, medication management, and collaborative treatment planning for pediatric and adolescent populations within a neurodevelopmental and behavioral health setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering both virtual and in-person care

  • Provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, medication consultations and ongoing medication management for children and adolescents.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams—including psychologists, therapists, and primary care providers—to ensure seamless, holistic support for each child or teen’s treatment plan

  • Implement evidence-based practices in the treatment of neurodevelopmental and behavioral disorders.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of session notes, care plans, and progress updates within our electronic health record system, in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

  • Participate in family meetings, case consultations, and care coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Active Licensure and Certifications:

    • Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of California

    • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner

    • Valid DEA license

    • Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

    • Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist (PMHS) certification

    • Certified through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB)

  • Specialized Training and Experience:

    • Formal advanced training in child and adolescent psychiatry or neurodevelopmental psychiatry

    • A minimum of 2,000 hours of prior full-time experience in a psychiatric nursing role, specifically serving child and adolescent populations

    • Proven expertise in behavioral health and neurodevelopmental disorders within pediatric and adolescent care settings

  • Clinical Competencies:

    • Demonstrated ability to provide culturally responsive, evidence-based psychiatric care, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)

    • Proficient in delivering child- and teen-centered psychiatric services and medication management

    • In-depth knowledge of psychotropic medications and best practices in pediatric prescribing

    • Adherence to evidence-based guidelines and practice standards

    • Technologically adept, with the ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize new platforms and tools

    • Collaborative and solution-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to give and receive feedback in team settings
